English Presentation for the Back Cover of "Il diverso sei tu" (You Are the Different One)
Two seemingly irreconcilable worlds: the city and the village, Pontevecchio and San Martino, two rival soccer teams and two groups of teenagers destined to clash. At the center of it all lies a deep and mysterious hatred between Federica and Linda, once inseparable friends, now sworn enemies.
In this intense novel, Giulio Colli explores with sensitivity and depth the themes of bullying, identity, and acceptance through the intertwined lives of young people struggling to find their place in the world. When Thomas, a first-year student, becomes the target of the "two angels" - Lorenzo and Stefano - it triggers a chain of events that will bring buried secrets and shocking truths to light.
Among clandestine friendships, budding romances, and family rebellions, the protagonists will discover that behind hatred often hides the fear of one's own vulnerability, and that the boundary between "us" and "them" is thinner than it seems.
Born from the author's theatrical experience and his work with young people in schools, "Il diverso sei tu" addresses complex topics such as marginalization, prejudice, and the search for identity through a perspective that combines social reflection and emotional dimension, using language accessible to readers of all ages.
A powerful novel that reminds us how true diversity is not found in those labeled as "different," but in the eyes unable to see beyond appearances.
